Per Mayor Dominic Rivara residents will be allowed to hold garage sales as long as proper guidelines are followed (social distance, gathering of no more than 10 people, etc…)
Effective immediately, the city parks will be open to the public, with the following guidelines:
- The public must maintain the proper social distancing of six feet.
- The walking track at McPhedran Park, the canoe landing, all of the green spaces, and the tennis courts will be open.
- Fishing at McPhedran Park is now allowed.
- Gatherings of 10 or more people are not allowed
- The playgrounds, ballparks, basketball courts, the dock at McPhedran, shelters, stages, benches, and picnic tables will remain closed at this time.
The police will be monitoring these areas. If the proper guidelines are not followed, the Commissioner of Public Property will close the parks if necessary.
The burn ban is being lifted to allow for recreational fires/fire pits in addition to the use of gas/charcoal/smoker grills as well. There is to be no burning of sticks or leaves and never garbage.

To All Residents of Oglesby:
Effective immediately the City of Oglesby is initiating a ban on burning this Spring. This ban will continue until further notice.
The burn ban includes the burning of all yard waste and recreational fires (examples: fire pits or bonfires). Grilling is allowed at this time. As a reminder, the the burning of garbage is never permitted.
Respiratory issues brought on by COVID-19 have forced us to make many changes to how we operate on a daily basis. I believe this change is in the best interest for the safety of our community

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our residents informed of any changes. Please continue to stay safe.

Effective April 10, 2020:
There will be a Republic Waste Service dumpster located inside the fence of the Electric Department (across from the Elk’s) that residents can take their yard waste bags only on Friday, Saturday and Monday between 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Stickers will NOT be required to be put on bags.
