A MEETING OF THE OGLESBY CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2015, AT CITY HALL. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.

PRESENT: COMMISSIONERS DANEKAS, PORTER, RIVARA, MAYOR FINLEY, ATTORNEY JIM ANDREONI AND CITY CLERK BECKY CLINARD.

The Mayor then opened the floor to the public for questions concerning agenda items. There were no comments from the public.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to place the building inspector’s first quarter report on file. The report showed $39,400 in improvements. AYES: DANEKAS, PORTER, RIVARA, FINLEY. MOTION CARRIED.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to refer TC Enterprises’ request for a zoning reclassification from Business to Light Industrial for the property commonly known as 517 W. Walnut St., (Dahlgren’s) Attorney Andreoni said that a meeting of the ZBA had already been set for Wednesday, April 29. AYES: DANEKAS, PORTER, RIVARA, FINLEY. MOTION CARRIED.

In a related matter, Andreoni mentioned that the city zoning request form should include information about the applicant’s responsibility to provide the names and addresses of all property owners within 100 feet of the property seeking rezoning.

The Mayor then opened the floor for comments.

An unidentified city resident asked that the city consider naming a street in a future development after long-time Oglesby resident Al Piecha. Piecha served the city of Oglesby in several capacities during his lifetime and was also a long-time county board member.

Mayor and Commissioners’ Reports:

Mayor Finley spoke on behalf of Commissioner Yborra, noting that the planned water shut-off was over and the residents in the affected area were under a boil order until further notice. He said that the project was completed other than forming up sidewalks, which would be completed in the next few days.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER AT 7:07 PM, SECONDED BY DANEKAS to enter into executive session for the purpose of reviewing executive session minutes. AYES: DANEKAS, PORTER, RIVARA, FINLEY. MOTION CARRIED

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA TO re-enter regular session at 7:16 p.m. AYES: DANEKAS, PORTER, RIVARA, FINLEY. MOTION CARRIED

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to adjourn at 7:18 p.m. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, YBORRA, FINLEY. MOTION CARRIED.
