A REGULAR MEETING OF THE OGLESBY CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 16, 2018, AT CITY HALL.  THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.

The Mayor opened the floor to comments from the public on agenda items only. Jason Curran addressed the council in regards to the St. Margaret’s project.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to accept the bid from Sterling Commercial Roofing for $69,650 for the replacement of the Dickinson House roof. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ZBROWOSKI to Approve Oglesby Ambulance Service Association door to door ticket sales for June 4th Fundraiser and waive the fee. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY RIVARA to place on file Ordinance 1012-050718, Contractors License & Building Permit. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to place on file Ordinance 1013-050718, Establishing Wages and Benefits for the Oglesby Non Union Employees Except for Those Employees f the Oglesby Ambulance Service. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Accept and Place On File the recommendation from the Plan Commission to combine lots 2 & 3 in Heritage Fields First Addition Subdivision. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Approve Ordinance 1014-041618, Approving the Resubdivision of Heritage Fields Subdivision First Addition, Lots 2 and 3 and Approving Plat Thereof. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ZBOROWSKI to Approve Ordinance 1015-041618, Approving the Design Review of the Proposed St. Margaret’s Hospital Project. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Approve Site Plan for St. Margaret’s Medical Clinic. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to Accept and Approve the Building Inspectors Report for the 1st Quarter, $193,239.00. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY RIVARA to Table the Donation Request from the Oglesby Library for $3,156 for electronic doors. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

The Mayor asked for comments from the public. Ken Ficek welcomed St. Margaret’s to Town. Jerry Gruenewald asked about getting Ed Hand Highway cleaned up, the new garbage carts, and TIF’s. Greg Stein asked questions about TIF’s and what’s in it for the older buildings downtown. Jack asked about our new recycling program.

Commissioner and Mayor’s Report:

Rivara- None

Argubright-None

Zborowski- TEST is working great so far and the Street department has really stepped up with helping them.

Porter- Instructions are being distributed with the carts. The information packet talks about placement and what weeks are recycle. If you want to dispose of your old cans Republic will take them as long as they are clearly marked. The same goes for the recycle tubs. Alley pick up will continue with no change. If residents were missed during the deployment they need to contact the Clerk’s office. Everyone will get one by the next garbage cycle.

Mayor Finley- The annual Cinco de Mayo fundraiser profits will be donated to the Dickinson House Repair fund.
